Vocational/Wider Skills
The Department works with a designated group of students in both KS3 and KS4. The aim is to enrich and support the students’ GCSE studies with time devoted to vocational qualifications taken in a variety of settings including Sedgehill and other off-site placements such as Lewisham College.
We are proud of the support we give to young people both in and out of the classroom.
Last Summer 100% of our KS4 students achieved at least one vocational qualification at level 2 (equivalent to a grade B at GCSE). Over 80% achieved 5 qualifications at level 2 (4 Grade Bs!). This was in addition to their GCSE results.
We have been acknowledged by our exam board, ASDAN, as a centre of OUTSTANDING PRACTICE.
The team puts in a lot of effort in ensuring all our students make the most of the opportunities given to them both in and out of school and that they are all ready to face the future when they leave. We work closely with all departments at Sedgehill and with parents as part of the spirit of partnership.
