MFL (Languages)
In a multicultural school like ours, it makes sense for students to learn a modern foreign language. The study of a language develops a variety of skills – communication, presentation, problem solving, organisation and independence. These skills can give another dimension to students’ future career choices.
KS3
Students will study French or German from Year 7 to Year 9.
KS4
Students can select courses delivered by the department as part of their GCSE options. The department offers students the opportunity to study GCSE’s in French or German.
Resources
The MFL department uses a wide range of resources to support students. We use the textbooks Expo 1,2,3 and 4 for French and Echo 1,2,3 and 4 for German. Teachers and students have access to a number of language software and websites to use in class and at home.
