Our Specialisms

We are a Specialist School for the Performing Arts and we have established a Sports Foundation in partnership with Fulham Football Club. We are also in the process of developing specialisms in our academic subjects including science and maths.
We are proud to have been a Specialist School for the Performing Arts for eight years. Our specialism has had a very positive impact on the school in raising achievement and aspirations both within the Performing Arts and across the whole school. We run an extensive range of curriculum based courses as well as many enrichment and enhancement activities. We have also developed close links through performing arts projects with our local primary schools and a number of local community organisations.
We are particularly proud of our school shows which have included ‘Oliver!’ in February of this year and ‘Sedgehill in Wonderland’ most recently. Our school band has toured the world (14 tours in 22 years from San Francisco to Sydney) and our school choir won the 2010-2011 Song for Youth competition which culminated in an amazing performance at the Royal Albert Hall.

Our sporting centre of excellence will open in September 2012 in partnership with Fulham Football Club
This is an exciting opportunity for both organisations to work in partnership and to provide a range of opportunities to Sedgehill students and the community at large. The partnership means that Sedgehill and Fulham will work together to identify and develop footballers of talent across the community and will also seek to encourage increased participation in football and all sports. Students joining the school in 2012, and existing students, will have the opportunity to work with professional Fulham coaches and to go on to the Fulham academy. Fulham will also use the school facilities to host its own development centre for young footballers from the wider community.
